With its original hardwood doors, moulding and garden restored to perfection, The Eliza Thompson House B&B welcomes guests with elegance and authenticity. Visitors to the inn now have another glimpse of days past, as the mantle and wall behind the parlor fireplace were recently restored.
Recently, a beautiful heart of pine wall and hearth were discovered underneath layers of paint and plaster in the parlor, an area of the house added by Eliza in the 1870s. The heart of pine wall was being stripped of paint and plaster and was refinished to restore historical authenticity and charm to the inn.
“The wood around the fire place is beautiful,” said Susan Powers, innkeeper. “by restoring the wall and hearth to its original design, we’re completing part of the picture of the actual home where Eliza Thompson lived 161 years ago.”
Linda and David Glickstein, travelers and publishers of The Discerning Traveler, have provided this excellent overview of Savannah.

My weekend at the Eliza Thompson House was my first experience at a bed and breakfast and they provided a great first experience. I was treated like a celebrity from the initial check in, the front desk clerk was chipper, funny and most importantly very informative, cant recall her name but she was wonderful. I stayed with my girlfriend and she fell in love with the decor of the room, and the ambience. The room was cozy and felt like home, actually didint want to leave because the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was phenomenal and reminded me of my grandmothers cooking on a saturday morning. I could keep going on and on about the amenities at the Eliza but I'd run out of characters. You guys provided a great romantic time and I definetly will recommend this place to all of my friends. thank you, for a great experience the entire staff especially the front desk clerk and cooks deserve a raise in pay!
02/12/11
Kevin's *OUTSTANDING* customer service in helping my wife & I find restaurants and parking for street sweeping/towing should be aknowledged . He is a asset to the Eliza T. house in making guest feel welcomed and taken care of.
01/28/11
We had a great time. We loved staying three nights with you. Kevin was a great help and we would like to thank him for the great advice. I would also like to thank the front desk for great dinner recommendations. If we ever visit Savannah again we would like to stay with you.
01/28/11
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Eliza Thompson House. The concierge was exceptional. He, along with the rest of the staff, was very attenetive and personable. My husband and I really enjoyed the wine and cheese reception. It was great to be able to mingle and get to know the other guest staying there and to swap information such as restaraunts to frequent and sites to see. We had an amazing anniversary weekend and the Eliza Thompson house played a big part in it, when there we felt like royalty
01/26/11
The front desk staff was excellent and Samuel was very very helpful and pleasant! All in all a great experience
01/24/11
Excellent, don't recall the name, but there was a gentleman there when we arrived in the very late afternoon. Extremely cordial and helpful.
01/06/11
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the inn. We will highly refer others to vacation with you
12/30/10
Really enjoyed our stay at the Eliza Thompson House for New Years weekend. It was a great way to start 2011!!! The staff was incredible and we felt right at home. Would highly recommend this beautiful B&B for a restfull and relaxed stay in beautiful Savannah. We will certainly return to this wonderful B&B.
12/30/10
The staff were amazing. Kevin, Sam, and Ms. E were very helpful and made us feel right at home. They were so helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating that we didn't want for anything! The evening wine & cheese, as well as the morning breakfasts were absolutely divine! I cannot wait to stay at the ET House again on our next holiday in Savannah. I would recommend the ET House to anyone and everyone. This place is a gem!
12/29/10
I can't say enough great things about our stay! It exceeded all of our expectations. The staff, the room, the atmosphere, the evening wine socials, the other guests, all came together to make an awesome stay. While the entire staff was fantastic, Samuel has to be the best host in Savannah! What a friendly, knowledgeable, gracious, genuine, entertaining and warm person he is. He made us feel like family. We were so disappointed that we were unable to say goodbye to him on our last day because it turned out to be his day off. We will definitely be back again and have already started telling friends and family to do stay as well. I also intend to post great reviews on the travel sites. Many thanks to you all
12/20/10
Samuel was a gracious host - he provided good conversation, great service and just the right touch during the evening wine and cheese . The parlor was filled with guests - mostly returnees - and the conversation and comfort made each evening very memorable. Breakfast was tastey, Virginia did a wonderful job - it was unfortunate that it was as chilly as it was - the heaters could barely manage. We will continue to recommend the ElizaThompson House. Its location is ideal and the value for this time of year is outstanding!
12/10/10
A wonderful place to stay. Very pretty and very comfortable. Great location for sightseeing. The breakfasts were very good. We enjoyed the nightly wine and cheese, etc. and the deserts each night. Kevin was the greatest help!! He gave us the tour and explained the B&B when we arrived and helped us with our luggage. Every day he was such a help in giving directions and helping with questions regarding parking, etc. Kevin made our stay even more enjoyable. Thanks for a very pleasant visit to Savannah.
11/22/10
We really enjoyed our stay. We got pampered from the moment we arrived, where Kevin helped us get settled and the desk immediatly provided us with a pass for parking. The room was perfect. The breakfast was plentiful. We also really enjoyed the evening cordials, where we were able to converse with some of the other guests, and get some good insight on Savannah or places to eat.
11/20/10
Nice place. Good location. Would stay again if we go back to Savanah
11/18/10
Excellent help and friendliness of daytime staff. The atmosphere of the cordials was delightful, and staff very pleasant and helpful during the happy/dessert hours. Unsure if it was Nell or Dell at the front desk, but she was so helpful with directions and information about future trips to Savannah; and she was friendly toward everyone. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and will recommend it to anyone going to Savannah!
11/17/10
Everyone was very good and Samual was excellent.
11/16/10
We had a wonderful stay at Eliza Thompson House. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and the house is beautiful. The location is perfect for walking the Historic District and an easy walk to the riverfront. We will recommend it to any of our friends who visit Savannah.
11/14/10
We visited the Eliza Thompson Inn for our Honeymoon and the experience was fantastic! As a whole, the staff was very friendly. The evening Wine and Cheese hour was a great way to begin our evening and we felt extremely comfortable throughout our entire stay. Erin, the front desk attendant, was extremely helpful and down-to-earth. She was very willing to show us around the inn and answer all of our questions. It felt as though she paid a great deal of attention to our interests when making dining recommendations. It was a joy to get to know her and we will definitely consider coming back to the Inn in the future
11/12/10
We were impressed with the attention given to guest services; everyone was very helpful.
11/12/10
The Eliza Thompson House is the first B&B I've ever stayed in and I was pleased beyond my expectations. The service and staff were both friendly and helpful. I will continue to stay at your inn on my future visits to Savannah.
11/10/10
Samuel was very helpful and kind during out stay. Nell regaled us with stories of not only the Eliza Thompson but the Marshall House as well, which was fascinating. The thing I love most about the ET, though (this was our 4th stay) was the unique and delicious breakfasts and evening cordials. No plain scrambled eggs and bacon here. The first morning we enjoyed mini quiches with seasoned hash browns, the second, some sort of egg casserole with what tasted like salsa. Fantastic! The cheese and crackers and (my favorite) the dip and crackers were not only scrumptious, but a nice way to get to know the other guests. Overall, a great job as usual!
11/08/10
My stay was wonderful, your inn is beautiful. I would like to thank Kevin your bellman. On my first night he gave me valuable information about the area which was helpful to my stay.
11/06/10
Great location, within walking distance of everything. Quiet neighborhood, even with our room on the street side. Courtyard was nice. We will recommend to others and we would definitely stay again. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
11/04/10
The food was wonderful & staff very pleasant. We had a great time and will return. thanks
11/05/10
Kathy and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Eliza Thompson House. This was our first trip to Savannah and one that we will cherish through the services received from the staff. Upon our arrival Kevin met us at the foot of the entrance steps, taking our bags to our room while we checked in. He then gave us a tour of the facility and explained the times for the evening cordials and morning continental breakfast. We especially enjoyed the social time in the early evening meeting guests, exchanging information about the city, places of interest, and dining options. The entire staff met and exceeded our expectations including arranging our city tour (with door-to-door pick up and drop off), scheduling transportation to the airport (wee hours of the morning), as well as providing dining recommendations and walking directions. The rates inclusive of all the amenities (evening social time, continental breakfast and concierge services) are very reasonable and greatly enhanced our stay and visit to Savannah. The Eliza Thompson House is definitely on our list of places to stay when friends ask for recommendations or upon our return visit to Savannah.
11/02/10
It was a great 2 days in Savannah with a wonderful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The food at breakfast was wonderful, the afternoon wine and hors' was great and dessert delightful, plus it was enjoyable to sit and visit with folks from all over. You did not feel like it was just in and out of the room, it was extremely comfortable.
11/01/10
We came to Savannah to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our stay at the Eliza Ehompson House was one of the most pleasant vacations we have had. The staff was wonderful in every way and a special thanks to Miss Virginia for the wonderful egg casserole and grits. The property is located on a beautiful tree canopied street and it met all of our expectations. We were near everything we wanted to see and the staff recommendations for meals were right on. If we pass that way again we would most definitely stay at the Eliza Thompson House again
10/31/10
10/25/10
We had a most wonderful stay. I'm very happy we selected you to enjoy our 25th wedding anniversary with. Savannah is now our favorite town to visit. Your house will be revisited by us and other family and friends.
10/16/10
Your beds are most comfortable..if I wasn't so excited to see the sites of Savannah, I could have just stayed in bed most of the day reading....All of the staff was friendly and helpful but Kevin O'Malley is by far the best I've come across in a long long time. Never forgets a person, gives you a little nick name and makes sure you are most comfortable and aquainted with the other guests. He goes the extra mile to let you know about the area and places to eat and always inquired and interesed in how are day went. He was a delight.
10/15/10
We had a lovely stay. The staff were helpful and friendly and Kevin OMalley was terrific. I would stay there again and would recommend the Eliza Thompson House. Thank you.
10/1/10
Me and my Husband came on our Honeymoon and we had the best time! Everyone at the eliza thompson house was soo friendly and so wonderful! Couldn't have asked for a better more romantic place then this! Absolutly Wonderful Service!
9/20/10
A wonderful experience and a major highlight in our vacation.
9/9/10
Nell and Kevin were great! They had answers to all of our questions, and were very helpful in securing dinner, tour and transportation reservations, as well as advising us about restaurants and things to do. My two girlfriends and I travel together every year, and this is definitely on the top of our list as our favorite place. We really enjoyed the evening wine and cheese, and desserts. It was a great way to meet other guests and share ideas for local attractions. I would definiltely recommend The Eliza Thompson House to anyone traveling to Savannah. The location and hospitality could not be beat!
8/21/10
We had a wonderful stay at the lovely and historic Eliza Thompson House. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast served in the quaint courtyard amidst beautiful greenery, statuary, and soothing fountains. The fact that we could walk to everywhere from the Eliza Thompson location was a big plus. Your hospitality staff, Erin and Kevin were amazing. Their attention to detail and service did not go unnoticed. Kevin was very helpful with our parking and luggage. Erin and Kevin answered all of our questions about Savannah and were wonderful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine and cheese get together and it was most pleasant to come in after a long day of sightseeing, dining, and shopping to enjoy a late night cup of coffee and a desert. You live in a special city and the Eliza Thompson house is a reflection of some of the best of what Savannah has to offer.
8/15/10
This was our honeymoon.; We spent 3 nights at Eliza Thompson house. A beautiful room. I think we had the largest room in the house! Very comfy and luxurious. Perfect for a honeymoon! Nice quiet neighborhood. But , very conveniet to walking around the historic areas as well. Enjoyed morning in the patio areas. Breakfast caserole was very good. Have fresh fruit every day though. So relaxing and charnming in courtyard. Evening snacks good and much needed after walking around all day. Was nice reaxing in parlor and looking over the restaurant menus to decide where to go for dinner. all staff friendly and helpful. would love to stay here again one day
8/2/10
Hi Ms. Powers, Our stay was excellent. The house is beautiful.. the breakfast, wine & food, and desert every day was incredible! It was much more than we expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly Erin - who recommended a ghost tour for us that was awesome! My mother and her boyfriend want to go to Savannah in October and I recommended the Eliza Thompson House. It was interesting that my boyfriend heard footsteps in the room above us all night (well, from 3am - 6am) when no one was staying in the room at the time... creepy
7/28/10
We were so happy to be greeted by a friendly bellman who knew who we were because he was aware of the reservation list. He made sure we received the evening cordials. The Continental breakfast was outstanding. We loved the room. I hope we get to return when the weather is cooler. Savannah is really hot in the summer. (and I am from Texas I thought we could beat anyone on the heat!!!) We had a fun trip.
7/24/10
I returned to Savannah after a 15 year sojourn, bringing my husband, a confirmed Yankee. We loved the room, service and the city (as always) was fabulous. Many thanks to you and your staff for making such a lovely anniversary vacation. I sincerely hope to return for yet another lovely get-away.
7/23/10
The bellman was very friendly and the staff took very good care of my wife and I. I wish our stay had been longer and we look forward to staying with you again.
7/19/10
7/18/10
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff is so accommodating and friendly. The room was cozy and comfortable. We came down for my best friends wedding (the elopement package is what they had) and it was lovely.
7/17/10
WE had a wonderful stay and hope to return soon. Please recognize Tony for a job well done! He was very helpful with directions and arranging taxi service for us. The food was fabulous and the accommodations were very comfortable. Thank you
7/14/10
We love your B&B !! Have recommended it to other friends putting their sons and daughters at SCAD
7/14/10
This was a very enjoyable visit. Right in the beautiful section of the city without all the hiustle and bustle. The price was very reasonable for all the amenities and we will come back if and when we return to Savannah.
7/7/10
Can't ask for anything more than a wonderful full breakfast, nightly appetizers, wine and then coffee and sweets! It was great! The staff were so kind and the room lovely!
7/5/10
We were very satisfied with our stay at the Eliza Thompson House. The staff was very welcoming upon check-in and were attentive to our needs throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the evening wine-and-cheese--it was at the perfect time of day and was a nice way to relax and get to meet some of the other guests at the inn. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal. Our only complaint is that we wished we had a refrigerator in the room, but this was only of minor concern for us. Thanks for a great stay--we will be sure to recommend the Eliza Thompson House to others and hopefully we will be back soon!
7/03/10
Everything about the Eliza Thompson House was great. No complaints at all. It was also in a great location on a quiet street. I will definately book a room there again in the future. The staff was very friendly too.
6/15/10
We had a great three night stay! The staff was very nice and we appreciated the wine and snacks in the evening. I will definitely recommend the Eliza Thompson House to friends looking for a place to stay in Savannah.
6/10/10
My girlfriends and I planned a long weekend getaway and we absolutely loved the house. I loved the modern yet still "olden days" feel of the house and we loved our huge room. We were in room 110. The most helpful was our bellman Kevin. He was fabulous!! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.
06/05/10
My mom and I visited Savannah for her birthday and we were both impressed with the presentation of the Eliza Thompson House. It was absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. Everyone who worked at the inn was very warm and inviting. We especially enjoyed wine and cheese in the parlour, which allowed us to meet other guests. The bellhop was very nice and helpful, and Nell was very sweet as well. We definitely enjoyed our stay, and we will be back in the near future! Thank you!
06/04/10
We had a great stay at the Eliza Thompson house, and when we return to Savannah we'll almost certainly stay there again. We would very highly recommend it to anyone considering a trip to Savannah.
06/04/10
can't see myself checking anything other than excellent above! We had a wonderful time and this was the most pleasant and enjoyable stay I've ever had at a hotel/motel/inn/b&b. I also can't see myself staying anywhere else in Savannah when I visit. THANK YOU for making our stay so great and I look forward to staying at the Eliza Thompson House again in the near future.
06/01/10
My husband an I couldn't have enjoyed a better trip than the one we had a the Eliza Thompson House. This place was simply wonderful and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The wine hour and dessert hours we're very enjoyable, as well as the breakfast every morning. We got the chance to meet some other couples at the gatherings and enjoyed chatting with them. I have already recommended the Inn to friends and relatives. There is only one simple complaint that I did have and it was the air conditioning in "The Savannah Room". It was quite loud and took a night to get used to. But other than that, we will definitely return and stay at that same place. Also, Kevin was very helpful and had great recommendations for us too. Hopefully he will be recognized for his excellent customer service and friendliness. We felt completely at home here and loved everything about the Inn.
05/29/10
I loved it and would stay there again... would also recommend it to others!
05/28/10
Everyone at the Eliza Thompson House was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, room was clean, and the front desk was very helpful. It's a beautiful inn but the real charm was the friendliness of everyone who worked there
05/23/10
Over all the Inn was lovely! But Ms. Virginia's Breakfast was to die for and she was very charming as well!
05/23/10
WOW, Beautiful place, quiet atmosphere, perfectly placed in the historic district. My wife and I were looking for a peaceful getaway, close to activities. With old south charm and history. Boy, did Eliza Thompson deliver! As a "Bed & Breakfast" Eliza Thompson is as good as it gets. We could not have picked a better place to stay for the money we spent. Low cost and excellent service all the way around
05/22/10
We had an excellent experience at the Eliza Thompson House and will recommend it to others. One of your employees deserves an attaboy for his helpfulness and courtesy. Kevin was very helpful and knowledgable of the city, eating establishments, parking, and sights. We especially enjoyed the breakfasts as compared to other B&Bs during our trip. Thank you for your hospitality while in Savannah
05/19/10
My wife and I have stayed in B&B all over the world and the ET provided one of the best experiences we have ever had. In most of the categories above Excellent just doesn't do them justice. Hospitality, decor, evening cordials, and Breakfast were UberExcellent. Thank you for the experience
05/16/10
There simply was not one negative thing about our stay at the Eliza Thompson house. The breakfast was exceptional, the cook delightfully hospitable. We arrived after midnight and yet the desk clerk, Rhodesia, offered to make us a desert to take to our room! Our room was beyond comfortable. Just the right size, perfectly cozy, amazingly clean and modern yet 'historic' feeling. Location was perfect, so convenient we could walk everywhere (and did); parking was directly in front of the House, affordably priced, perfect! There was no stress, no worry, no hidden fees, no run around...we even had huge umbrellas available to us on the one day of rain. Every need had been thought of and arranged for before our arrival! We can't wait to stay at the Eliza Thompson House again.
05/12/10
We were with another couple and were staying in two rooms. We enjoyed our stay and were very impressed with the hospitality. Our reservations were originally for 2 nights, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our visit for another night. The breakfasts in the courtyard were wonderful!
05/8/10
We loved our visit at Eliza T house. The staff was great and very efficient and friendly. The desserts were a welcome treat after our dinner on the river. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go and enjoyed the location. Mother's Day breakfast was a treat and the casserole was very tasty. We have some friends planning a visit to Savannah and we will surely recommend the Inn to them. Thank you for memorable Mother's Day with my daughter.
05/1/10
This was my husband and my first experience at any bed & breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful personal service and amenities. Kevin was wonderful. He was attentive and kind, and he made suggestions for dinner at a restaurant we did choose and thoroughly enjoy. We will recommend the Eliza Thompson House to friends and will consider staying there again in the future.
04/24/10
Our stay at the Eliza Thompson House was the high point of a lovely visit to Savannah. It was impressive to have Kevin (the bellman) meet our cab at the curb and it felt terrific to have a friendly greeting from Nell every time we came in the door. I would (and have) told others about the wonderful hospitality at Eliza Thompson house.
04/22/10
Fabulous staff. We were a bit more than the average "needy" group and all of our needs were met with concern and an appropriate amount of humor. Your night staff is terrific! Beautiful accommodations and a great breakfast. I would stay again without hesitation. Thanks for being a part of a wonderful memory.
04/17/10
Wouldn't change a thing! I wish we had been able to stay longer.
04/17/10
Hi- Our stay was marred by my not feeling well, but the facility was beautiful, the staff was extremely cordial, the breakfast was delicious, the ambiance was just what the doctor ordered, and we had a great time roaming Savannah for the first time. Upon returning, we will be sure to vist the Eliza Thompson house, again! Thanks
04/11/10
We had a pleasant stay and were impressed by the amenties - especially the courtyard. The food was good and the staff were friendly. We would definitely come back!
04/8/10
Kevin very helpful and friendly. Woman at the desk on Saturday morning 4/10 was very nice to deal with.
04/5/10
What a wonderful venue!! We especially enjoyed the wine and cheese and later the coffee and desserts. What a nice touch. And to be able to use your WiFi was quite nice also. Your cook, Virginia, was especially pleasant. If your web site shared some of her recipes that would be wonderful. We purchased drawings of the house and a shot glass and the front desk lady (whose name I do not recall but was a young blonde female) was a wonderful help with those purchases Thank you again for such a pleasant stay and help with dining suggestions. We WILL come again!!
04/1/10
The Inn made our stay in Savannah memorable - the wonderful staff (Nell, Kevin) were exceptional - welcoming, information, and just downright Southern friendly. The beautiful courtyard was added to the ambiance - wonderful place for the breakfast then the afternoon wine and cheese. We can't imagine a better stay and location. Only recommendation is an earlier breakfast for those who want or need to move about earlier. A 6:30 - 7:00 am breakfast would help.
03/31/10
Loved this place. No negative comments whatsoever. Both the inn and the staff were fabulous. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.
03/30/10
We enjoyed our stay at the Eliza Thompson House very much. You just couldn't ask for a better location in Savannah's Historic District. We were close to shops, restaurants, and beautiful Forsyth Park. We did not have a rental car, and never felt we needed one; we walked everywhere, day and night, and always felt safe. We definitely will return to this remarkable city and to the Eliza Thompson House.
03/27/10
We had a great time. Kevin was very attentive to our needs as well as the other guests. The breakfast selections were delicious as were the wine and cheese selections.
03/22/10
We loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the desk staff and the wonderful breakfast. Thanks Virginia...
03/15/10
The Eliza Thompson House was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, the breakfast was awesome and the staff was very informative and accomodating. I did find the price to be a bit expensive, however I would be willing to pay it again. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing. I was especially fond of being able to meet other guest during breakfast. I am already making preparations to return.
03/14/10
Wonderful Inn--we loved it! Have stayed at East Bay Inn in the past (which we also loved). The courtyard at Eliza Thompson House is just fantastic.
03/11/10
Lovely inn, excellent food and service, great location. I'd recommend this inn to others.
03/09/10
Great stay! Excellent accommodations, service & food. Would highly recommend! Will definitely stay there again.
03/06/10
We spent 10 days going down the coast from Hilton Head to Amelia Island and the Eliza Thompson House was by far our favorite place. Kevin is amazing! We were wondering when he sleeps because he never stopped. He gave us some great recommendations on places to eat and was so helpful with parking. Angela is such a nice, nice woman and I absolutely LOVED her eggs each morning. She was kind enough to give me the recipe but I doubt that I'll be able to duplicate them as well as Angela's. One of our favorite things was the cocktail hour each evening. The relaxed atmosphere and the cozy size of the parlor made for getting to know our fellow guests and engaging in some wonderful confersations. The appys were always delicious. We found the location of the Wesley Room perfect. It was so nice to step out into the court yard to have our morning coffee and read the paper. What a beautiful courtyard. Overall, it was a terrific stay and we will be back and recommend the Eliza Thompson House to our friends and relatives who plan to visit the Savannah area in the future.
03/01/10
I only know some of the staff's names but everyone we encountered was so pleasant and helpful! William was great at check-in and Kevin was so helpful on Fri. am when he suggested we change the side of the street we were parked on. Virginia 's breakfasts were super especially the quiche and egg casserole. We certainly didn't go away hungry for either food or new friendships. All the lovely women at the front desk were helpful also. Should we come back to Savannah anytime soon we will be sure to stay with you and recommend you to our friends. Despite the cool weather there was no shortage of warmth in your fair city. Thankis again for a fabulous birthday stay for my husband and myself.
02/27/10
We found two members of your staff we exceptional. We were staying to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary and both of the members went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time. Please extend our gratitude to Kevin and Erin; they made a great stay even better. We will be back next year.
02/22/10
We returned to Eliza Thompson House after about 15 years. We just hadn't had time to visit Savannah in that time. We were delighted to find it as wonderful as we remembered. The staff members were all very warm, welcoming, and helpful. Give everyone a gold star!
02/18/10
My husband and I stayed at the Eliza Thompson House on our recent trip to Savannah. We loved evrything about it. The location was good, the staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was great every morning. We will definately recommend the Eliza Thompson House to anyone traveling to Savannah and we will stay there again whenever we make our next trip to Savannah.
02/09/10
We especially enjoyed the breakfast. Then we met Virginia the cook. She is as sweet as her food is delicious. What a charming lady! We enjoyed the courtyard breakfast area too. We would return just based on the breakfast and the afternoon wine and cheese.
02/06/10
We were completely satisfied with our stay at The Eliza Thompson House. From the beautiful furnishings, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, appetizers, and desserts, as well as the interesting guests, we had a wonderful 3 night stay. We look forward to coming back in the future to further explore this historic city and experience the cordial hospitality at The Eliza Thompson House. All the staff was wonderful, but we especially appreciated Kevin's help and suggestions.
2/06/10
I live locally but decided to treat myself to a night at a Victorian Bed & Breakfast! It was without a doubt the most peacful, relaxing night that I have ever had at any overnight accomodations! The whole place was simply beautiful. My room was exceptionally clean and very relaxing. The front desk staff as well as the bellman were very friendly and helpful too. I found the price to be really reasonable for the type and location of the bed and breakfast. I was impressed with all that came with the room price! I would recommend The Eliza Thompson House to anyone wanting a peace filled and relaxing evening! I thoroughly enjoyed my there and would not hesitate to stay there again!
2/05/10
Everything was wonderful, beautiful courtyard, unbelievable staff. My only complaint was the lights on the upper courtyard room lite up my Johnston room, ven with the shutters drawn. Had a remarkable stay. Would recommend over and over again, and plan to stay again.
2/05/2010
Felt so at home I almost stopped by to say hello when I was in SAv the following week. Loved meeting other guests at the cordials and having great conversations. Came to meet an old friend and visit. Worked out beautifully. Thanks. FEb rates made it possible. Rain manageable in good company!
1/29/2010
a wonderful experience Kevin, the Bellman, was right there to greet us and to help us find parking when we arrived. Lots of help & menus to assist us in choosing an evening restaurant. We appreciated the Jan./Feb. special which included wonderful appetizers and wine in a welcoming living room with other guests, after dinner desserts & de-caff coffee, and a wonderful breakfast. We especially appreciated the wonderful location in the historic heart of Savannah. The Eliza Thompson was the highlight of our trip from Canada and a very memorable experience for us! The only glitch was that there were not directions on the website --that would have been helpful for (we had called for directions, but unfortunately the verbal phone directions left out one street name which we needed to turn on----)

We loved the Eliza Thompson house! Our room was lovely and we enjoyed the views of the pretty courtyard and side gardens. It was very quiet and cozy. The evening wine and appetizers, and the wonderful evening desserts and coffee, were delicious and much appreciated. The inn is beautiful and the location is incredible. We walked to a great dinner at Billy's and enjoyed walking through many squares that evening. We walked more of the area the following morning and felt totally immersed in the lovely neighborhood. Savannah is such a beautiful, unique city and Eliza Thompson afforded us a perfect venue from which to explore and appreciate. Thank you so much for a lovely time!

Room ready early (noon). Met at curb. Great help with luggage & parking. Super luncheon suggestions. Wonderful room. Explored the area on our own until wine and cheese (Friday). Unexpected phone call at 6 P.M. advising that my only aunt in Illinois had died of a heart attack. Cancel Hilton Head week. Out for a bite of dinner at another recommended place. Good food and service. Ate some dessert and drank some coffee with you, then to bed for 4 A.M. wakeup and checkout. Missed having breakfast with you.We will return to Savannah. And, our stay will be with staff and facilities of the Eliza Thompson House. IT WAS A GREAT STAY, BUT IT WAS TOO SHORT.
