Fall Getaway

Ghosts at The Eliza Thompson House?

Fall is a great time to visit for yourself and find out!

In October 2007, writers from The South Magazine  spent a week investigating the “haunted houses” of Savannah.  They surprised us by giving The Eliza Thompson House a "Fright Meter" score of 4.5 out of 5.   According to the authors, The Eliza Thompson House was the scariest of the seven inns featured in their Fright Night article.  (pdf of article)

According to the article, "This dazzling property is perhaps farther below the radar than many others include on this list; its ghost stories have not been previously published or popularized by television shows or ghost hunting websites."

The writers found much to review in digital images with glowing orbs, misty figures and cold breezes reported in their article.  Reportedly, the most haunted room in the house the lovely The R. Bruce Room, where a confederate soldier has appeared and ghostly children have been heard by visiting guests.

Is The Eliza Thompson House haunted?  Who can say if there are haunts and spirits in these old Savannah houses?  Whether you believe in spooks or not, The Eliza Thompson House invites you to visit Savannah this Fall, when the leaves are falling on the cobblestoned streets and a chill is just beginning the be in the air.  Stay at The Eliza Thompson House, and experience the history and ambiance of this incredible historic home for yourself.
